Position: LTE Capital Development Project Coordinator (Madison or Milwaukee)
Position Summary

This position will assist the Bureau of Park and Recreation Management in a variety of duties that may include communication, project planning and management, capital development (construction) project management, grant management, planning, staff training and other special assignments relating to outdoor recreation and capital development project implementation on departmental land. Work will be performed under the general supervision of the Recreation Partnerships Section Chief within the Bureau of Parks and Recreation.

The work projects in this position will be long-term by assisting with coordination, development and implementation of the program's capital development program. The work projects will also be short-term in nature by managing emergency projects at the field level within hours and days of incidents. Duties will include working with property managers and across multiple programs.

Some out of town travel may be required. Overnight travel may be occasionally required. The incumbent of this position will need to meet and maintain fleet eligibility requirements to drive a state vehicle or provide their own reliable transportation.

50% Manage projects related to capital development program on DNR property for the PRM program. Perform capital development tasks as assigned by the Recreation Partnerships Section Chief and Capital Development Coordinator, including meeting coordination, scheduling, budget tracking, grant management, engineering plan reviews, and property visits. Develop, implement, coordinate and enhancement of projects in the capital development program.

20% Coordinate, manage and direct project document creation, filing and storage to ensure compliance with record keeping policies for the Development Project System (DPS). Assisting with organization of files and naming conventions within these DNR systems. Coordinate project records to ensure continues program improvement and efficiency through project analysis and research. Develop, implement and manage program policies related to capital development document storage and efficiency.

20% Coordinate the planning and training needs for the capital development program. Work with central office and property staff to collect feedback from staff and develop effective communication procedures for projects. Design and deliver trainings to property managers across divisions.

10% Other Bureau of Parks and Recreation Management duties as needed.

Salary Information

This position pays between $21.27 - $24.00 per hour and is in the Natural Resources Program Specialist 1 classification in pay schedule and range 07-04. Compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and will not automatically lead to permanent state employment or be entitled to the same benefits as permanent employees.
