The Department of Justice, Division of Law Enforcement Services, Bureau of Justice Programs (BJP) serves as the designated State Administering Agency (SAA) in Wisconsin for federal criminal and juvenile justice formula and discretionary grant programs, as well as related state grant programs. BJP also seeks federal discretionary funding opportunities on behalf of the state. BJP awards and disseminates grants to local, tribal, state, and non-profit agencies, and provides program/fiscal oversight and assistance.

BJP is also responsible for coordinating two statewide advisory councils. The statewide

Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) brings togetherstate and local decision-makers as a collaborative bodyto assess the criminal justice system and improve system outcomes. The Governor's Juvenile Justice Commission (GJJC) is adiverse group of appointed commissionersfrom across the juvenile justice system and serves as the State Advisory Group (SAG) on juvenile justice issues for Wisconsin.

BJP is recruiting for a Program and Policy Analyst-Advanced position to serve as the Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Program Manager . This position will be headquartered at the Risser Justice Center, located at 17 W. Main Street, in the award-winning city of Madison .

Under the general supervision of the Criminal Justice Program and Policy Supervisor, this position acts as an agency expert and a statewide policy resource for public safety and criminal justice programs including law enforcement, prosecution, diversion programs, treatment courts, corrections, and public defense and related public policy areas. This position is to serve as the program manager and technical assistance provider for the Wisconsin Treatment Alternatives and Diversion Program.

This position is primarily responsible for the program management of the Treatment Alternatives and Diversion Program (TAD) and Drug Court Program totaling over $10 million and currently funds 61 treatment courts and 30 diversion programs across the state of Wisconsin. As a program manager, the position provides support to participating counties and tribes with the establishment, implementation and administration of their TAD projects.

The Program and Policy Analyst-Advanced
position is in pay schedule 07 and pay range 03. The starting salary for this position will be between $35.00/hour ($72,800/year) and $39.00/hour ($81,120/year) depending upon experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with specific remote opportunities to be discussed during the interview process and requires travel as part of the role. Following the successful completion of the required training period, this position offers the ability for up to four days per week remote. In addition, the employee may need to report to DOJ on short notice as operational needs require.
