Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Program Manager

Position Summary

BJP is recruiting for a Program and Policy Analyst-Advanced position to serve as the Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Program Manager. This position will be headquartered at the Risser Justice Center, located at 17 W. Main Street, in the award-winning city of Madison.

Under the general supervision of the Criminal Justice Program and Policy Supervisor, this position acts as an agency expert and a statewide policy resource for public safety and criminal justice programs including law enforcement, prosecution, diversion programs, treatment courts, corrections, and public defense and related public policy areas. This position is to serve as the program manager and technical assistance provider for the Wisconsin Treatment Alternatives and Diversion Program.

This position is primarily responsible for the program management of the Treatment Alternatives and Diversion Program (TAD) and Drug Court Program totaling over $10 million and currently funds 61 treatment courts and 30 diversion programs across the state of Wisconsin. As a program manager, the position provides support to participating counties and tribes with the establishment, implementation and administration of their TAD projects.

Salary Information

The Program and Policy Analyst-Advanced position is in pay schedule 07 and pay range 03. The starting salary for this position will be between $35.00/hour ($72,800/year) and $39.00/hour ($81,120/year) depending upon experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire.

A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Job Details

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with specific remote opportunities to be discussed during the interview process and requires travel as part of the role. Following the successful completion of the required training period, this position offers the ability for up to four days per week remote. In addition, the employee may need to report to DOJ on short notice as operational needs require.

High speed internet access will be required to meet needs of remote work. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement. Must be eligible to drive when required for travel.

The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants must also have experience in all of the following:

* Interpreting, applying, training, and/or monitoring compliance with complex state or federal statutory requirements, administrative codes, and/or grant regulations.

* Planning, managing, evaluating and/or coordinating complex public programs, public safety initiatives, or criminal justice operations (such as treatment/specialty courts, diversion programming, or drug/alcohol prevention) utilizing evidence-based programming and decision-making.

* Working within a local, state, or federal government agency, with demonstrated knowledge of governmental operations and the roles/responsibilities of multi-disciplinary justice system agencies (law enforcement, prosecution, courts, corrections).
