Intelligence Operations Specialist

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A).

The assignment involves problem definition, resolution, planning and coordination with numerous Federal, State, Local, Tribal, Territorial and Private Sector partners. The incumbent executes a wide range of relationship building, intelligence and information sharing, field-based collection, reporting and supports analytic production.

Experience:

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, or comparable experience in the private sector, performing duties such as:

• For this position, specialized experience is defined as supporting ongoing or emerging substantive intelligence analysis, collection and dissemination activities in any established specialty area. Such experience may include conducting a variety of complex assignments within his/her area of responsibility and conducting and directing in-depth research and analysis in support of homeland security. Additionally, such experience could be gained from working with state and local partners to create an information sharing environment between them ad the National Intelligence/Law Enforcement community.
  
  Providing processes to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in homeland security-related analytic topic areas.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

This position is designated as Emergency Essential. Emergency Essential personnel must be able to serve during a continuity of operation event without regard to declarations of liberal leave or government closures due to weather, protests, and acts of terrorism or lack of funding. Failure to report for or remain in this position may result in disciplinary or adverse action in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations (5 U.S.C.  and 5 CFR Part 752, as applicable).
