The Physical Therapist diagnoses and treats patients with medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. The physical therapist provides a variety of healthcare services tailored to each patient's needs, using treatment techniques to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Works with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive services and participates in team-based continuous improvement.

Job Description:

Schedule

Schedule Mon-Thurs from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (Outpatient)

Weekend rotation is a maximum of 1 in every 4 weekends (Inpatient)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Demonstrates best practice and accountability in the performance of safe and effective assessment, reassessment, development, and implementation of the patient’s therapy plan of care. Consults with other disciplines as required to coordinate patient care services.
  • Delegates appropriately to physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation aides to support patient needs while maintaining accountability for the care plan. Understands their competency levels and supports learning opportunities to enhance team skills.
  • Completes accurate and timely documentation of services provided, in accordance with professional and compliance standards, to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
  • Assists in developing standards of care, practice patterns, protocols, and procedures based on evidence-based practice to ensure quality care.
  • Acts responsibly to improve patient access to care and contributes to the department’s financial performance.
  • Builds positive relationships with referral sources and within the community to support growth and market share.
  • Supports clinician autonomy through professional development and mentorship to foster team success.
  • Develops or implements clinical and community activities to expand or improve services benefiting patient care.
  • Promotes putting patients and their families first by facilitating positive patient experiences.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in physical therapy from an accredited school
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • License to practice as a physical therapist in Wisconsin
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling) and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
    • Exposure to blood-borne pathogens while performing duties
    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Occasional exposure to sharp objects, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, high noise levels, and communicable diseases
    • Possible contact with aggressive or combative patients
    • Occasional use of heat sources like hot water or heat guns
