Position SummaryThe School Psychologist‑Senior provides a range of services and duties selected and adapted to the unique educational, psychological, emotional, mental health communication needs of justice‑involved youth. Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, the incumbent will conduct psychological, educational and vocational assessments and diagnosis, provide counseling, connect with community resources, and consult with staff and parents/caregivers. This position will be located on the campus of the Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center in Madison, Wisconsin, and will be funded through a federal innovation grant entitled, “Transforming systems so that justice‑involved youth can thrive: A multilevel system of reintegration supports.”
The incumbent will work as a member of the team responsible for implementing T3.
This position is in classification School Psychologist‑Senior. Depending on qualifications, the salary will be between $30.00 – $43.66 per hour (approximately $36,192 – $52,671 per year prorated for the .58 FTE). For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. This position is in pay schedule 12, range 63.
A one‑year probationary period will be required.

Project positions are eligible for benefits, including health insurance, but the incumbent does not attain permanent civil service status. The funding for this project position ends November 30, 2029. Wisconsin residency is required for project positions.
Special notes: This position will work first‑shift hours between Monday through Friday.
Licensure RequirementsCandidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist (61 or 62) with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. To be eligible for this licensure, a candidate must meet all the requirements outlined by DPI, including holding a Master’s Degree in Psychology from an accredited university, college, or professional school.

The position is headquartered at Mendota Juvenile Treatment Facility (301 Troy Drive) in Madison, WI. Employees are required to report to 201 W.
