Position: Sterile Processing Specialist - Surg/OR

Work Schedule

100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Shifts scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the needs of the clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sterile Processing Education Specialist, Supervisor, Manager, and OR resource staff on any departmental changes and additions to instruments, processes, workflows, and standards.
  • Develop professional and ethical relationships with staff, customers, and vendors, through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure the database of the instrument tracking system (e.g., Censitrac) is accurate and establish the appropriate and standard reprocessing method for the materials received, used, and checked out.
  • Establish, approve, and update contents and processes for preparation of all instrument trays.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years reprocessing experience.
  • Certification by CBSPD as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or by IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician.
