School Psychologist – Senior (Project Position)

Position Summary
The School Psychologist – Senior provides a range of services and duties tailored to the unique educational, psychological, emotional, and mental health communication needs of justice‑involved youth. Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, the incumbent will conduct psychometric assessments, offer counseling, connect youth with community resources, and consult with staff and caregivers. The role is based at the Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center in Madison, WI, and is part of a federally funded project titled “Transforming systems so that justice‑involved youth can thrive.”

Project Details

• Project position (58% FTE) funded through a federal innovation grant, ending November 30, 2029.

• Wisconsin residency required; position is not permanent civil‑service.

• Standard first‑shift hours Monday–Friday.

Salary and Benefits

• Classification:
School Psychologist – Senior.

• Hourly rate: $30.00–$43.66 (approximately $36,192–$52,671 per year, prorated for 0.58 FTE).

• Pay schedule 12, range 63.

• One‑year probationary period.

• Eligibility for health insurance and other state benefits, including the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Qualifications
Minimally Qualified:

  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist (61 or 62) with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing culturally responsive services to students from diverse racial, ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Experience with psychological testing and interpretation for incarcerated individuals.
  • Experience with behavior‑management or modification techniques.

Legal and Background Requirements

• Criminal background check required prior to hire.

• TB screen required prior to start.
