Cardiac Sonographer – University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority, Madison, WI

Work Schedule

32 hours per week, Monday to Friday day shift with variable start times. Saturday and Sunday shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) at University Hospital on a reasonable rotational basis. One‑hour call response time. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.

  • Eligible for up to a $8,000 sign‑on bonus (pro‑rated based on FTE).

Responsibilities
  • Provide cardiovascular imaging services as part of a dynamic team focused on optimal patient care.
  • Perform cutting‑edge diagnostic procedures, including transcatheter aortic and mitral valve replacements, Watchman, Mitra Clip implantation, and alcohol septal ablation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver a positive experience for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Work in multiple settings: a Level 1 Trauma Center, critical care facilities, and various clinics throughout the Madison area.
  • Maintain accreditation standards with the IAC in both Echo and Vascular Imaging.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program (required).
  • Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ultrasonography, Radiology, Biological Sciences, or a relevant health sciences field (preferred).
Work Experience
  • At least 2 years of echocardiography experience (preferred).
Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered in Echocardiography (RCS or RDCS) upon hire (required).
  • Basic Life Support/CPR upon hire (required).
  • Registered in Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound (RCS or RDCS and RVT or RVS) (preferred).
