Pharmacy Technician – Clinical assists pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW clinics. The Pharmacy Technician - Clinical works under the general guidance and daily supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist and the Clinical Pharmacist Program Manager.

JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is desirable.
  • Valid Certification as a Pharmacy Techni cian (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Pharmacy experience is required.
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer based applications such as MS Office, pharmacy and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to use or learn to use computers for order entry, inventory control, billing and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic math and algebra. Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and consult with patients, practitioners and internal staff.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety and /or infection control standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population and workforce.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem solve.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work as member of a team and to maintain good working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation requirements. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to adhere to department and position’s punctuality and attendance standards.
  • Ability to provide own transportation to various work locations, as needed.
