The Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation (WWHF) is a mid-size nonprofit with a 25+ year history of improving health and well-being across Wisconsin. We are seeking a professional to join our Well Badger Resource Center team
, a program of WWHF.
The Well Badger Resource Center is Wisconsin’s health information and referral service, helping people find and connect with health, social service, and government programs in their communities. Our team provides personalized support to people across Wisconsin through phone, text, email, chat, and other communication channels. Community members and professionals can also search the Well Badger Online Directory on their own to find resources and services across Wisconsin.
Aboutthe Position
The Specialist will primarily serve as an Information and Referral (I&R) Specialist
, working directly with individuals and families to understand their needs, identify appropriate resources, and help them take the next step toward accessing services.
This is a people-centered role that combines problem-solving, resource knowledge, communication, and technology
. Specialists listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, research options, and provide information in a clear and respectful way. No two conversations are exactly alike, and the ability to stay curious and resourceful is essential.
- Provide personalized information and referral support through phone, text, email, chat, and other communication channels.
- Conduct real-time, client-focused assessments to understand each person’s needs, provide education, and offer informed choices about available resources.
- Research health, social service, and community resources using the Well Badger Online Directory and other reliable sources.
- Help individuals understand their options and take the next steps to access and connect with services.
- Communicate with service providers as needed to gather information, clarify available services, and support effective referrals.
- Conduct follow-up with individuals to check in on their progress, confirm they received the help they needed, and provide additional support or referrals when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interactions and referrals using Salesforce and other online systems.
- Offer satisfaction surveys to people who use Well Badger services.
- Participate in case discussions, case briefings, and team meetings to collaborate on complex or challenging situations and share information with colleagues.
- Work collaboratively and flexibly with team members to ensure coverage during Well Badger’s hours of operation.
- Support the Resource Management team as needed in maintaining and updating information in the Well Badger Online Directory.
- Contact organizations to verify information about their programs and services and research new or updated resources.
- Review resource information for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Assist with Online Directory and website projects as needed.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the quality and usefulness of Well Badger’s resource information.
- Participate in internal staff meetings, supervisor check-ins, quality assurance activities, training, and professional development.
- Stay informed about health and social service programs, community resources, and changes that may affect the people we serve.
- Build and maintain respectful relationships with service providers and community partners throughout Wisconsin.
- Participate in network and partner meetings, conferences, and outreach events throughout the region as needed.
