Outreach Program Manager

This position will work within the Division of Care and Treatment Services, in the WI Department of Health Services (DHS). This position will have the primary responsibility for managing substance use prevention services in Wisconsin.

The duties include development and coordination of evidence-based prevention practices, establishing and upholding grantee monitoring as it relates to achievement with the scope of work and intent of funding, contract development, technical assistance and training, and the creation of required plans and reports. This position is also responsible for assessing the design, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of existing and emerging resources and services with the intent of strengthening and improving statewide prevention efforts.

• Terminal, 12 month appointment.
• This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding.
• This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
• Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. • Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
• Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan
• Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
• Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
• Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services

The starting salary for the position is $70,000; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

• Education and experience in leading primary substance use prevention services.
• Experience with participating in work groups or committees related to prevention activities with internal and external parties.
• Experience with contract administration.
• Experience organizing, coordinating, or facilitating training or technical assistance.
• Experience with behavioral health program development, public health initiatives, or community coalition leadership.
