We're hiring a Healthcare Policy Analyst for a public health organization in Madison. If you excel at taking complex healthcare regulations and turning them into clear, actionable guidelines, you’ll fit right in. In this role, you will research, analyze, and implement Medicaid fee-for-service benefit policies while serving as a key policy resource for state partners, healthcare providers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Research state and federal regulations to analyze policy changes and assess their impact on healthcare providers and program members
• Collaborate with technical teams and software vendors to ensure claims processing and database systems align with current benefit policies
• Draft policy communications, implementation plans, and official responses regarding coverage and reimbursement questions
• Analyze large sets of healthcare claims and medical coding data using database tools and spreadsheets
• Serve as a subject matter expert in meetings with provider associations, state officials, and cross-functional project teams

Skills:

• Bachelor or master degree in public policy, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field preferred
• Demonstrated experience in policy analysis, research, or program administration within the healthcare sector

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with healthcare billing processes, including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD medical code sets
• Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing spreadsheets and database management tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations to diverse groups
