Position: Hospital | MRI Tech | 17-Week Travel Contract – Madison, WI
Travel MRI Technologist Job – Hospital Assignment in Madison, WI

Bring your MRI expertise to a high-acuity hospital imaging team in Madison, Wisconsin. This on-site travel healthcare job is ideal for an experienced MRI Technologist who enjoys working independently, supporting diverse patient populations, and performing advanced diagnostic imaging in a collaborative clinical environment.   • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,380–$2,550
  • Assignment Type: Travel MRI Technologist assignment
  • Location: Madison, Wisconsin
  • Start Date: November 2, 2026
  • End Date: March 1, 2027
  • Duration: 17 weeks
  • Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour shifts
  • Shift: Evening, primarily 1:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m.;
    Friday may be scheduled during the day or evening
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Weekend and Call Coverage: No regular weekends or call; holidays may be required
  • Work Environment: Hospital-based MRI imaging with assignments across multiple imaging locations as needed
  • Orientation: 20 hours
  • Travel Eligibility: Applicants residing within 50 miles of the assignment location are not eligible
MRI Technologist

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical MRI experience
  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Recent GE MRI experience within the past 18–24 months
  • Experience in a high-acuity or Level I trauma environment required;
    Level II trauma experience preferred
  • Ability to work confidently with neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety, radiation safety, contrast administration, IV starts, PACS, image post-processing, and communication with inpatient and emergency department teams
  • Epic or comparable electronic health record experience preferred
  • Ability to float between imaging locations and adapt to changing operational needs
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, complex, and specialized MRI examinations across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and acute care settings
  • Complete diagnostic imaging studies of the brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, breast, vascular system, and musculoskeletal anatomy
  • Perform advanced examinations such as MRA, MRV, MRCP, diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy, cine studies, and image post-processing when indicated
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, assess MRI safety considerations, and provide compassionate care throughout each examination
  • Administer contrast media safely and initiate peripheral IVs in accordance with established protocols
  • Prioritize and triage routine, urgent, and emergent imaging requests in collaboration with clinical teams
  • Operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment, image-processing systems, and archiving technology
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, equipment maintenance, and resolution of imaging workflow issues

    Follow MRI safety standards, isolation precautions, and patient identification procedures
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, technologists, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Support education and instruction for students, fellows, residents, physicians, and visiting clinical professionals as appropriate
