Position Overview

A growing property management company in Madison is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / HR Coordinator to support both financial operations and core human resources functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You’ll play a key role in keeping day-to-day accounting accurate while supporting employees across the full HR lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with external accountants and payroll providers as needed
  • Support budgeting, expense tracking, and audit preparation
Human Resources
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR compliance documentation is up to date
  • Support payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with recruiting coordination and internal HR initiatives
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar finance-focused role
  • Prior exposure to HR, payroll, or benefits administration strongly preferred
  • Experience in property management, real estate, or a related industry is a plus
  • Proficiency with accounting and payroll software (e.g., Quick Books, Paychex, ADP, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
