Desktop Support Technician I

Location: Fully onsite in Madison, WI

Duration: 6+ Month Contract, Likely Extensions

Pay Rate Range: $15 - $18/HR

• Serve as the initial point of contact for end-user support needs
• Provide basic installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of hardware and software
• Troubleshoot and resolve (or escalate) issues related to data, connectivity, applications, and client/server processes
• Support operational maintenance of technology systems to ensure compatibility and functionality
• Assist staff with day-to-day tech challenges and new equipment setup
• Help maintain internal knowledge base documentation
• Provide one-on-one guidance to users on standard hardware, software, and business applications
• Learn and support media-related workflows used by staff

• Experience in a customer-facing role with strong active listening and empathetic support
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to explain basic technical concepts to non-technical users
• Experience supporting modern computer hardware (desktops/laptops)
• Experience with Windows 10/11 and macOS
• Practical, logical troubleshooting skills for basic technical issues
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and procedures
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and documentation accurately
