Mainframe Batch Operations Technician

Our client, a government agency specializing in public service support, is seeking a Technician to join their team. As a Technician, you will be part of the IT Operations Department supporting critical batch operations and system monitoring. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Technician

Location: Madison, WI

• Monitor and troubleshoot IT schedules and jobs within Control M mainframe and enterprise environments
• Support application operations for systems managed by DWD, DCF, and DHS
• Schedule and manage batch jobs to ensure smooth system performance
• Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues promptly
• Maintain detailed documentation of processes and incidents for compliance and continuous improvement

• Willingness to work 2nd shift (Monday-Wednesday 2-11pm CST)
• Availability to work every Sunday (5:30am-6:30pm)
• At least 5 years of experience with Control M and JCL
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with 5 years of documentation experience
• Experience with mainframe systems and related tools such as Changeman, CNTL-M, or similar
