** Job Summary
** As Alliant continues to grow and invest in modern, scalable technology, we are expanding our cloud capabilities to support an evolving business and member experience. The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting hybrid‑cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and on‑prem virtualization platforms such as Nutanix. In this role, you will develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, collaborate with platform, network, and security teams to enhance operational efficiency and reliability, and manage full environment life cycles—patching, scaling, and optimizing workloads for cost, performance, and compliance.

If you bring working knowledge of Azure and/or AWS services (compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring), proficiency in automation and IaC tools such as Terraform and Power Shell/Shell, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools including Jenkins, Ansible, Git Hub Actions, and Azure Dev Ops—and if you have experience with virtualization platforms like Nutanix AHV or VMware vSphere, strong problem‑solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in cross‑functional, growth‑focused teams—this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact as Alliant continues its cloud transformation.
** What you will do
*** Coordinates departmental projects and the design, evaluation, recommendation, building, testing and maintenance of medium to large computing services and writes specification documents for these systems.
* Responds to support tickets and resolves technical issues escalated through Help Desk Help Desk within specified time frames, uses troubleshooting tools and procedures to resolve issues, and maintains defined service levels.
* Provides leadership and guidance for resolution of moderate to complex operational issues.
* Complies with local, state, and government regulations such as SOX, NERC CIP, FERC, and TSA.
* Maintains disaster recovery plans and coordinates the planning and execution of disaster recovery drills.
* Leads creation and maintenance of technical documentation related to hardware/software in client computing environment as well as training materials for end users.
* Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
* Participates in the usage of Agile processes to gather requirements, develop solutions, and deliver products.
* Assists other teams and helps manage relationships with outside vendors.
* Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
** Education Requirements
*** Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in information technology or related area Preferred
** Required Experience
*** 6 years of experience in PC support in a networked environment, including system hardware and software support
* Advanced administrative experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and software, standard application packages, imaging software, profile migration techniques, client computing hardware, peripherals, and general PC troubleshooting and problem resolution.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Demonstrated advanced understanding of software application packaging and distribution tools, methods and techniques.
