We're seeking a Software Development Engineer II (SDE2) to join our Discovery Team, the heart of the customer journey  an SDE2, you will contribute significantly to software development for the core customer journey on  - from Homepage to checkout:

• Develop and Maintain:
  Play a key role in the development and maintenance of Java-based applications leveraging AWS services (ECS, SQS, S3, Dynamo
  
  DB), ensuring our architecture supports scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate for Success:
  Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers. Your contributions will be crucial in creating optimal customer experiences and steering technology choices.
• Coach and Guide:
  Provide guidance and feedback to help maintain high coding standards and practices. Your efforts will contribute to the growth and development of our engineering team.
• Solve Problems:
  Address complex issues within a well-understood technology strategy. You ll balance business needs with technical solutions to ensure scalability and future growth.
• Uphold Best Practices:
  Your contributions will not only address problems efficiently but also adhere to and promote best practices within the team.
• Learn and Grow:
  You ll have opportunities for continuous learning and contributing to the team s strategy and goals, fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented environment.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Bachelor s degree or equivalent

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• AWS and Java
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficiency in Dynamo
  
  DB, ECS, SQS, SNS, S3, and comfort with CI/CD automation.
• Search Engine
  
  Experience:
  
  Experience with search engines (ideally Solr), enhancing our customers  discovery journey.
• Open Source Involvement:
  Familiarity with open-source tools (Git, Spring
  
  MVC, Spring Boot, Maven, Gradle, Ant, JUnit, Jenkins) to help us innovate.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
