Digital Accessibility Specialist

Job Summary

Position is 100% remote, but must be a resident of Wisconsin.

Contract. Salary: $35.33 - 45.33 per hour.

Work hours:

8am to 5pm.

Education:

High School.

• Will assist individuals and teams in using tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro, WAVE, Lighthouse, Color Contrast Analyzer, NVDA Screen Reader, Microsoft accessibility checkers and manual keyboard navigation techniques to ensure that people using assistive technology are able to access our programs, services and activities while following federal and state guidelines for accessibility
• Supports the mission and strategic plan by assisting teams with ADA Compliance for web sites, web and mobile applications/content, eforms and documents to meet or exceed the Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related to Digital Accessibility.

• Knowledge of disability law including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2), industry standards and best practices.
• Extensive knowledge of web communication accessibility barriers.
• Mid to expert knowledge of current HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Ability to work independently, or with little supervision as well as the ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to describe actions required to a non-technical audience.
• Knowledge of Internet/Intranet application design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance methodologies.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, database tools, graphic design tools, and page layout tools.
• Strong problem determination and resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills.
