Front-End Designer & Developer

THE ROLE:

• Maintain, update, and enhance CMS and we web solutions for Promega-affiliated sites, and provide development/design support for  as needed.
• Develop front-end features and components using modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React.
• Build and refine templates, page layouts, and UI elements within content management systems such as Word Press and Craft
  
  CMS.
• Create user interface designs, wireframes, and prototypes that support intuitive and positive user experiences.
• Collaborate with internal partners to design and develop new content, pages, and user experiences that align with organizational objectives.
• Ensure websites follow accessibility standards, performance best practices, and responsive design principles.
• Troubleshoot front-end issues, coordinate resolutions, and implement improvements based on analytics and stakeholder feedback.
• Apply strategic thinking to evaluate stakeholder requests, translate them into clear, actionable, user-centered solutions, and work independently to move projects from concept to execution.
• Contribute to the evolution and consistency of design systems across supported sites.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies, design trends, and AI-powered tools, and proactively incorporate them to improve development efficiency, user experience, and the overall quality of digital deliverables.
• Demonstrate inclusion through their own words and actions and be accountable for a safe workspace. Act with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.
• Embrace and be open to incorporating Promega’s 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.
• Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

• 4–6+ years of professional experience in front-end development and UI/UX design.
• Front-end development: HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript, and frameworks React and Tailwind.
• CMS platforms:
  Word Press, Craft
  
  CMS, Sitecore or equivalent.
• Design tools:
  Figma, including design tokens, variables, and component libraries.
• Design system work:
  Experience maintaining and contributing to a shared component ecosystem.
• UX fundamentals:
  Wire framing, prototyping, accessibility, responsive design.
• Cross-functional collaboration:
  
  Comfortable working across design, dev, brand, and marketing teams.
• Strong portfolio:
  Portfolio of design and development experience.

• Web performance optimization and GEO/SEO knowledge.
• Experience with analytics platforms such as GA4.
• A strong visual design background that influences technical decisions, not just aesthetics.
