** Job Summary
** Alliant Energy is continuing to grow and invest in modernizing its technology landscape, creating an opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Platform Specialist to play a key role in shaping the future of its enterprise this role, you will design and advance hybrid platforms that span both on‐prem and public cloud environments, directly supporting a business that is scaling and evolving.
You will drive platform reliability, resiliency, and operational excellence across virtualization and hypervisor technologies, enterprise storage, and data protection services.
A strong focus of this position is reducing operational friction through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement. You will identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve service quality, and enable more efficient, scalable platform operations across the organization.
This role is well suited for someone with deep, hands‐on experience in VMware or Nutanix, Net App storage, and enterprise data protection solutions such as Dell or Rubrik, along with a strong understanding of enterprise hosting architectures. Success requires ownership and a systems mindset, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into measurable, business‐impacting outcomes.

** What you will do
*** Coordinates departmental projects and the design, evaluation, recommendation, building, testing and maintenance of medium to large computing services and writes specification documents for these systems.
* Responds to support tickets and resolves technical issues escalated through Help Desk Help Desk within specified time frames, uses troubleshooting tools and procedures to resolve issues, and maintains defined service levels.
* Provides leadership and guidance for resolution of moderate to complex operational issues.
* Complies with local, state, and government regulations such as SOX, NERC CIP, FERC, and TSA.
* Maintains disaster recovery plans and coordinates the planning and execution of disaster recovery drills.
* Leads creation and maintenance of technical documentation related to hardware/software in client computing environment as well as training materials for end users.
* Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
* Participates in the usage of Agile processes to gather requirements, develop solutions, and deliver products.
* Assists other teams and helps manage relationships with outside vendors.
* Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
** Education Requirements
*** Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in information technology or related area Preferred
** Required Experience
*** 6 years of experience in PC support in a networked environment, including system hardware and software support
* Advanced administrative experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and software, standard application packages, imaging software, profile migration techniques, client computing hardware, peripherals, and general PC troubleshooting and problem resolution
