Overview
We’re hiring a Transit Information Technology Specialist to join Metro Transit’s Information Services team and help support the technology that keeps transit running smoothly. You’ll work on automated systems and services, solve technical issues, support system improvements, and contribute to projects that impact daily operations across Metro Transit.
You’ll collaborate with teammates while also managing assignments independently, using your technical skills and professional judgment to deliver reliable solutions. Under the guidance of the Transit Information Services Coordinator, you’ll take on increasingly complex work and play an important role in improving transit technology and services.

LoanForgiveness Program

Customer Support- Troubleshoot routine and complex applications, hardware, network, and other system problems to identify root causes and long-term solutions
- Set up/install hardware and software for customers
- Develop and support database applications such as Microsoft Access
- Prepare documentation and training materials, including conducting training
- Work with other Transit areas to identify opportunities for improvements to business processes and technology
- Manage 3rd party/vendor licensing, subscription, and/or support contracts for transit-related applications
- Assist or lead the gathering and analysis of customer requirements for improvements to existing or acquisition of new systems
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Four (4) years’ professional experience in the development and support of computer information systems;
-OR-
- Two (2) years’ professional experience in the development and support of computer information systems; and
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Special RequirementsAbility to meet the transportation requirements of the position.
Physical RequirementsWork is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment with standard office equipment. Employees need the ability to set up, install, and test computers as assigned. Employees must be able to access all areas of all Metro facilities including administrative areas, bus garages, bus stations, and the inside of buses and other vehicles. Employees will be expected to visit sites throughout the city to troubleshoot issues.
This position requires the employee to work onsite.
