Per the Department of Corrections (DOC), Desktop Support staff maintain a working knowledge of our internal computer system. The technician will be in charge of repairing and maintaining thousands of desktops, laptops, and other PC devices. They will also install new PCs and laptops to replace end‑of‑cycle equipment. Additionally, the technician will maintain inventory and properly dispose of outdated equipment by recycling items per DOC policies.
The technician will close work orders in the DOC ticketing system and receive oversight from the Field Tech Manager to ensure that policy, procedure, and methodology are being followed.
On‑site only. Candidates must be Wisconsin residents; relocation is not allowed. The position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule and days lasting longer than 8 hours.
Responsibilities- Repair and maintain desktops, laptops, and other PC devices.
- Install new PCs and laptops to replace end‑of‑cycle equipment.
- Maintain and update inventory of hardware.
- Dispose of outdated equipment responsibly through recycling per DOC policies.
- Close work orders in the DOC ticketing system.
- Receive oversight from the Field Tech Manager.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in desktop support.
- Remote troubleshooting skills.
- Customer service skills and interaction with users during device setup.
- Experience imaging devices.
- Any AV integration experience.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
- Strong deadline management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent multi‑tasking and work‑day balance skills.
