Join the Shopbop/Zappos Catalog Tech team as a Senior Data Scientist, where you'll play a key role in transforming product catalog management through innovative data solutions. In this position, you will collaborate closely with Zappos' Senior leadership to tackle complex data challenges using advanced analytics and machine learning. Your expertise will be critical in developing cutting‑edge methodologies to enhance catalog data quality, reduce errors, and speed up product data capture.

Daily, you will partner with engineering teams to integrate machine learning models, leading initiatives such as creating state‑of‑the‑art image classification systems for fashion products. You’ll have the opportunity to think big about the impact of data science on catalog operations and deliver scalable solutions that elevate the customer experience.

• Design and implement machine learning strategies to enhance catalog data quality.
• Develop and validate automated data capture and classification methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML models into production.
• Create compelling analyses that drive decision‑making at the senior leadership level.

Your day starts by reviewing model performance metrics and addressing any drift in the image classification system. You’ll work on innovative approaches to minimize product attribute errors through the latest advances in large language models (LLMs). After collaborating with engineering on model architecture for new features, you’ll analyze the outcomes of your recent A/B tests aimed at improving data capture efficiency.

The Zappos/Shopbop Catalog Tech team is responsible for the software that powers our photostudio, product cataloging, and integration with Amazon's marketplace. We embrace Amazon's Leadership Principles while maintaining a unique and enjoyable team culture. Our team operates out of Madison, WI, and Las Vegas, NV.

• 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
• 4+ years of experience as a data scientist.
• Familiarity with statistical models such as multinomial logistic regression.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in data visualization tools like AWS Quick Sight, Tableau, or R Shiny.
• Experience managing data pipelines.
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience within a data science team.
