Job SummaryThis is a project position with a projected end date of December 31, 2027. The role makes final determinations on systems requirements and technology selection, performs complex data analysis, provides guidance to lower level staff, and serves as a subject matter expert to leadership. The Business Analyst leads process improvement projects, supports business needs, and ensures alignment with the Workday Enterprise Solutions Team (WEST) and unit priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Build and sustain strong relationships with business leaders, process owners, and end users in a matrixed environment to ensure alignment between unit needs and system capabilities.
- Develop a deep understanding of business processes, workflows, and challenges across assigned functional areas.
- Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and outputs.
- Provide strategic guidance on reporting solutions, including selecting and designing tools such as Workday reports, Tableau dashboards, or other platforms to best meet business needs.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear functional specifications for system configuration and development.
- Partner with WEST teams and vendors to design, implement, test, and deploy enhancements.
- Lead change management efforts, including impact assessment, communication strategies, and end‑user training.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement‑gathering sessions, and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
- Monitor business process performance and adoption, proactively identifying and driving opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver sustainable, campus‑wide solutions.
- Provide guidance to lower level staff in the design, development, and implementation of data reporting and business intelligence systems.
- Design, develop, and implement complex data reporting and business intelligence systems.
- Performs testing, supports end users and follows WEST team standards.
- Develops and assesses opportunities for new unit staff training opportunities.
- Serves as a subject matter expert to institutional and unit leadership on critical technology issues.
- Makes recommendations in the selection of technology solutions to align with business strategies.
- Provides direction for the mapping of business processes using advanced process‑mapping methodologies.
- Provides advanced procedural and technical guidance to unit staff regarding technology usage and management.
- Serves as a project lead for lower level IT staff, providing guidance on specific project goals, outcomes, and technological components.
Workday and Enterprise Solutions Team (WEST)
CompensationBusiness Systems Analyst III (Inst) salary range: $104,726 – $126,866. Business Systems Analyst II salary range: $95,219 – $115,352. Final salary and title are determined at hire and based on experience and qualifications.
