Quality Assurance Tester
Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting. This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).
The Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for quality control and testing web applications developed in the Family Support Enterprise Section (FSE) with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) with the Client. They are expected to create test scenarios, test plans, test reports, and track the life cycle of defects. Proficiency with industry standard automation testing suites, regression testing is required.
The role may involve testing across multiple projects within the section and is expected to leverage skills and experience to test complex IT systems.
The QA Tester is also expected to provide excellent customer service by driving and facilitating UAT testing processes with the customer. The individual coming into this role must have strong communication skills and be a team player because they will be working so closely with the entire technical project team and may have involvement with business area partners. Knowledge of DCF programs, prior experience with the Wisconsin CARES system and familiarity with Client's application systems, procedures, and development standards is highly preferred and familiarity with the DCF Young Star application is a plus.
The individual in this position will:
- Identify and apply best practices.
- Evaluate software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements.
- Evaluate program output and reports for accuracy and policies and procedures for quality.
- Review new or modified application/functionality, including documentation and specifications, to determine if final solution(s) will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
- Recommend improvements or corrections to development team.
- Have 10 or more years of experience testing software applications.
