Position Overview

Senior Cybersecurity Risk Remediation Analyst at Abbott Cancer Diagnostics reports to the Director of Cybersecurity Strategy & GRC. This role serves as the central coordination point for enterprise cybersecurity remediation efforts resulting from risk assessments, vulnerability management, penetration testing, compliance activities, security incidents, audits, and other cybersecurity assurance functions. The analyst applies security and IT risk principles and processes to integrate security into business operations, driving remediation through coordination, stakeholder engagement, and sustained effort.

Duties
  • Partner with technical teams and risk owners to coordinate remediation of cybersecurity findings across multiple domains (vulnerability management, penetration testing, compliance assessments, security incidents).
  • Evaluate remediation options, challenge assumptions, monitor progress, and drive timely closure.
  • Maintain visibility into enterprise cybersecurity risks by accurately tracking and communicating remediation activities, milestones, and status updates.
  • Translate findings into actionable remediation plans with defined owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Aggregate, evaluate, and report on risks and remediation progress to support management and leadership decision‑making.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders to facilitate planning, remove obstacles, and drive timely risk treatment activities.
  • Support delivery of risk‑management education by preparing materials, reinforcing frameworks, and responding to stakeholder questions.
  • Identify remediation barriers, facilitate decision‑making, and elevate risks threatening remediation timelines or business objectives.
  • Prioritize remediation initiatives with leadership based on business risk, strategic objectives, and capacity.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced staff.
  • Ensure accountability for remediation through follow‑up with owners, monitoring milestones, and ensuring completion.
  • Uphold company mission, values, quality, and compliance policies.
  • Attend work regularly, travel up to 10% of time as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or IT governance, risk, compliance, or operations.
  • 1+ year of experience with cybersecurity risk management.
  • Experience with security risk management and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, HIPAA).
  • Experience evaluating risk rating methodologies and conducting risk assessments.
  • Experience facilitating executive‑level risk discussions.
  • Experience managing risks through the lifecycle in a globally regulated enterprise (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of security governance, risk, and compliance concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and influence in complex environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and listening communication skills.
  • Agility and ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification(s) in cybersecurity, risk, audit, or program/project management.
  • Experience contributing to the continuous improvement of risk‑management environments in a globally regulated enterprise.
  • Experience with enterprise GRC platforms (Service Now, One Trust) and implementation.
  • Advanced program or project management experience coordinating complex cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Experience in healthcare or biotech industries.

Salary

$ - $ (annual base salary for Madison, WI). Bonus eligible.
