Under the direct supervision of the Instructional Technology Manager, the Digital Learning Specialist supports MMSD in integrating digital tools to amplify learning. The position will support the Digital Learning Team during the tech plan re-evaluation and re-write. This position will work with Central Office departments to infuse digital learning best practices when modeling, coaching, and providing guidance to staff. This position will also system-administer instructional and technical platforms for MMSD.

This position will also design and provide personalized training for MMSD staff, with ongoing support. This training will sometimes occur during atypical working hours (e.g., before or after school or on weekends). This position will work in collaboration with the Digital Learning Team to foster the Information and Technology plan.

This position will have a high degree of integrity, sustain a culture of continuous improvement, and be committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment while having a growth mindset to a multi-faceted operation while having a focus on creating a positive work culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technology Design & Support (20%)
    • Utilize technology skills for data analysis, collaboration, communication, and productivity.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of technology integration models to support digital implementation.
    • Integrate digital learning in alignment across all curricular areas and MMSD universal instructional practices.
    • System administrator for Securly, Google for Education, and other digital platforms.
  • Training (Design & Delivery) (30%)
    • Help coordinate, design, and deliver District-wide training, such as site-based meetings, ongoing group meetings, and workshops.
    • Implement and design effective training practices, including through the use of technology.
    • Deliver engaging and effective personalized training.
    • Gather and use needs assessments and/or effectiveness feedback data to reflect and adjust training strategies.
  • Collaboration & Leadership (35%)
    • Contribute to the district technology plan re-evaluation
    • Conduct non-evaluative, information-gathering learning walks for data collection and analysis.
    • Collaborate with members of the Digital Learning team and other departments to support the use of instructional technology.
  • Professionalism & Compliance (10%)
    • Meet established deadlines, fulfill assigned responsibilities, and follow through on commitments.
    • Exhibit reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and effective time management.
    • Implement and follow established Tech Services policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard organizational systems and data.
  • Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
    • Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership or their representatives or designees.
    • Attend district and school functions that support MMSD's strategic framework, initiatives, and core values.
    • Complete any and all district required training.
    • Build collaborative relationships with business partners.
