Senior Business System Consultant

• Provide expert-level professional and technical support in the development, installation, and maintenance of business systems solutions
• Assist management in solution development and system activities
• Act as leader on multiple concurrent initiatives of any size
• Mentor staff as needed
• Provide technical and business expertise and specialized skills in business systems areas
• Provide architecture design and leadership
• Analyze and design solutions by translating business requirements into technical specifications
• Present options, evaluate and recommend solutions
• Identify unperceived business needs and leverage existing, public, and vendor solutions where appropriate
• Identify and communicate global impacts of interrelated activities
• Develop application code according to acceptance criteria
• Promote continuous improvement and continuous integration and delivery with IT and business
• Guide development of multiple concurrent business systems solutions from conceptualization through stabilization
• Provide leadership, architectural guidance, and training/mentoring to professional staff in planning, road mapping, estimating, and quality assurance
• Provide constructive feedback regarding team member performance
• Develop, test, implement, document, and maintain business systems solutions across computer platforms
• Maintain client-specific and business systems knowledge
• Educate others and collaborate with management, development teams, IT Infrastructure, and clients
• Enhance and share application development best practices, technologies, methodologies, and standards
• Acquire, apply, and train others in new technical skills
• Monitor industry trends and work with decision-makers to drive technology changes
• Own and respond to customer requests
• Perform and guide root cause analysis, impact analysis, problem determination, and problem resolution support
• Collaborate with business and IT staff throughout problem resolution

• BS in MIS or CS or equivalent trade-off in related education and related professional work experience
• 6 1/2 years work experience in IT
• Most recent 36 months of work experience as a Business System Consultant or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience within the last 3 years
• Demonstrated achievement and progressive responsibilities
• High level of proficiency in a business environment within the last 3 years in at least 4 specified areas:
  Application development life cycle;
  Modern business solution design and development practices;
  Current Microsoft development environment;
  Web Application Development and Cloud Technologies;
  Business application support of internally developed and vended solutions within the CMFG architecture;
  Service and API development, SOA
• Expert knowledge of application development concepts in a multi-platform computing environment
• Knowledge of application development life cycle, n-tier development, and object oriented design
• Breadth of knowledge of information technology concepts and deep expertise in application development in more than one business system area
• Expertise in business application, information and/or technical architecture design
• Good judgment and reliability
• Expertise in architecture design with the ability to teach others
• Ability to drive and/or influence departmental or overall technology practices
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate business and technical information, verbally and in writing
• Ability to provide a high level of customer service
• Must not require immigration sponsorship or additional/permanent work authorization to work in the United States, now or in the future
