Position: Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist

Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist

Join Creative Risk Solutions (CRS), a leading Third-Party Administrator under the Holmes Murphy umbrella, to excel in handling workers' compensation claims across Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Iowa.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, gather, and accurately transmit workers' compensation information to the company, from communications with the insured, claimants, and internal staff in a timely manner.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Mediator situations as they arise between the insured and the insurance company, with some support from a leader as needed, to include researching coverage issues.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information on a computer system during the claim process, to include final settlement information.
  • Generate daily checks for indemnity and medical payments.
  • Develop and monitor consistency in procedural matters of the claims handling process with CRS.
  • Compile and interpret Workers’ compensation reports on designated accounts, as requested.
  • Adjudicate lost time claims.
  • Participate in claim reviews and attend Risk Control Workshops when requested by agency partners or insureds. These could be in person or by phone.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma; college degree preferred. Technical designations encouraged, such as AIC and CPCU.
  • Licensing:
    Active state-specific Workers’ Compensation License required or the ability to acquire license within three months of hire. Willingness and ability to obtain additional state-specific licenses during the duration of employment as needed.
  • Experience:

    2-4 years claims experience with a strong background in Workers’ Compensation coverage.
  • Technical

    Competencies:

    Invest in the understanding and application of claims principles and practices and insurance coverage interpretation as it relates to consulting, evaluating, and resolving claims.
