Insurance Associate - Wisconsin Heartland Associates

This position provides insurance licensed financial and non-financial support to Wisconsin Heartland Associates. This position serves as a resource to Financial Advisors focused on fixed life, annuities and health insurance and, working with a Financial Advisor develops and implements business and marketing plans to acquire, cultivate, and retain members. Responsibilities may include prospecting and marketing, case and proposal preparation, referral generation, and building a sense of “community” with and among members.

The Insurance Associate reports to and is employed/contracted by the Financial Advisor. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the sponsor for insurance licensure.

• Handle sensitive communications with members, which may include highly confidential information and effectively respond through verbal and written communications to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Facilitate and/or co-present insurance product specific seminars and/or workshops as necessary
• Participate in business planning for the practice as needed
• Counsel and advise prospective and current members on particular insurance products and policies for purchase
• Open and complete insurance product applications
• Obtain member financial information for the sale of fixed insurance, fixed annuity and health products
• Explain, discuss or interpret insurance coverage; analyze exposures or policies; provide recommendations
• Issue certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, commitments, or insurance contracts
• Assist Financial Advisors in the preparation and follow up for the client/member meetings
• Collaborate with Financial Advisors to assist members with fixed insurance, fixed annuity or health product changes
• Participate and drive marketing services including direct-mail, fraternal activities, seminars, meetings
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned in accordance with licensure and business needs

• Previous administrative/secretarial experience desired
• Must be insurance licensed/appointed in all states in which the candidate would be doing support work for Wisconsin Heartland Associates.
• Must be willing to complete appropriate state training in order to sell Long Term Care if this is determined to be a part of the position or support needs of the sponsoring Financial Advisor.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation/experience, 2+ years preferred
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions
• Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information
• Basic understanding of Wisconsin Heartland Associates, our products and services, and Thrivent Financial

• Base salary of $36,000, along with a percentage of commissions from sales generated revenue.
