Under general supervision of the Executive Director, the Facilities Manager – AEC is responsible for the facility maintenance and management of all Alliant Energy Center facilities and equipment. Oversees all capital planning, budgeting, and execution, including project management for all capital projects on the AEC campus. Provides supervision of all Facilities staff to include groundskeepers, mechanics, mechanical repair workers, electricians, steamfitters and other trades.
EXAMPLESOF DUTIES
Under general supervision of the Executive Director, the Facilities Manager is responsible for assessing the repair, maintenance, upkeep of all Alliant Energy Center facilities and equipment. Plan, schedule and manage all buildings, grounds and physical plant maintenance activities at the AEC, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling repair and installations. Supervises employees engaged in the maintenance, repair and/or cleaning of Dane County facilities including effectively recommending decisions on hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, probation, grievance adjustment, overtime, assignment of work, scheduling and training.
Recommend and process equipment and machinery purchases. Ensures building fire and life safety systems are maintained and operating per code. Ensures preventative maintenance work is accomplished on all machinery, equipment and major building systems at designated buildings on a regularly scheduled basis. In collaboration with Dane County Public Works, provide oversight of proposed Exhibition Hall Expansion, Coliseum redevelopment and execution of balance of AEC Campus Master Plan.
Oversees facility—related purchasing, budgeting, planning and staffing for designated buildings. Identifies capital improvement needs for designated buildings. Performs project management duties for complex building repair renovation and remodeling efforts.
Experience:
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an Associate’s degree/certificate, vocational training or apprenticeship in a skilled building trade or construction management and five (5) years of experience in facilities operations at a multipurpose facility (e.g., stadium, arena, event center, etc.), or a high-population, multi-facility campus, including managing capital projects. The mentioned years of experience must include at least two (2) years of lead/supervisory experience and at least two (2) years of experience managing capital projects and capital budgeting.
Special Requirements :Must have a valid driver’s license, or access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent. Availability to work as required during nights, weekends and holidays, including long and unusual hours, as dictated by facility related emergency and/or event needs.
