Job Overview
Accounts Payable Escalation Specialist will support and coordinate AP Technicians training, review and approve daily accounts payable processing and support escalations to work through resolution with manager and procurement teams.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Trains, schedules, assigns, and review work of staff with support from manager
- Analyzes major accounts and prepares monthly vendor reconciliations
- Develops and implements record‑keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to processing payments and other accounts payable activities
- Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies and suggests appropriate corrective procedures to AP Manager and Procurement teams
- Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public
- Assists in coordinating manager accounts payable check runs weekly or as needed
- Assists in answering accounts payable inquiries and following up
- Maintains harmony among staff and helps coordinate/lead team discussions
- Provides excellent customer service and follows through with minimal supervision
- Assists in training and developing high performing teams
- Works with manager to solve any discrepancies or complaints
Education:
Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a four‑year college or university with 2–3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate: valid driver’s license may be required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Complete understanding of GAAP
- Cost accounting experience preferred
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, performance evaluations, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Ensures employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentRegularly required to sit. Frequently requires walking and use of hands. Occasionally required to stand. Noise level usually quiet.
