Summary
Directs activities of workers concerned with installation of machinery or equipment, welding, piping, fabrication, and demolition or construction projects by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conducts safety inspections and holds safety meetings.
- Trained to safely operate forklifts, JLG type man lifts, scissor lifts; use power-actuated tools.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager or Superintendent, studies specifications to plan procedures for industrial services on the basis of safety hazards, start and completion times and safety and staffing requirements for each phase of outage, expansion, maintenance or construction.
- Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning; executes safe work procedures, interprets specifications, and coordinates various phases of projects.
- Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of equipment.
- Orders procurement of safety equipment, tools and materials to be picked up or delivered.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules; prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and cost and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
- Knowledge of the company’s quality systems ensuring all site personnel adheres to them at all times.
- Prior to commencement of site work, gain an understanding of the relevant project specifications and drawings.
- Monitor all work against specifications to ensure continuing quality and accuracy of work performed.
- Notify the Project Manager of any defects, mistakes, errors or variations identified.
- Ensures all quality checklists are properly completed.
Manages up to 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of up to 50 employees in the Industrial Services Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of units. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or ExperienceFifth-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid driver's license. Must meet CSE, Inc. MVR Requirements.
