Pay Range: $51.05 - $76.60

You will provide strategic, operational, and regulatory leadership for the Advocate Health Patient Safety Organizations (PSO), ensuring the effective design and execution of the Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES). Leads a coordinated, data-driven approach to patient safety and quality improvement, leveraging advanced analytics and emerging technologies to identify risk, reduce harm, and improve outcomes while enabling protected shared learning, regulatory compliance, and measurable reduction in harm across the enterprise.

You will serve as a key advisor and liaison to internal leadership, PSO participants, and external regulatory entities, positioning the PSO as a trusted partner in advancing protected learning, system reliability, and innovation in patient safety. This role has 3 direct reports.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead the vision, strategic direction, and operational advancement of the PSO as a core enterprise asset, aligning with safety, quality, and high reliability priorities while driving system-wide improvement, scaling leading practices, and expanding participation and value-based services to support long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES), ensuring standardized processes for identifying, collecting, managing, integrating, and protecting Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) across clinical, operational, and technology workflows.
  • Ensure full compliance with PSQIA, AHRQ PSO requirements, and applicable regulations by maintaining PSO listing, upholding PSWP protections, and partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Accreditation to align with evolving regulatory, confidentiality, and legal standards.
  • Lead enterprise safety analytics by leveraging advanced data capabilities, including artificial intelligence, to identify risks, detect emerging patterns, generate predictive insights, and enable data-driven improvement through a secure, ethical, and integrated analytic ecosystem.
  • Design and facilitate structured safe table processes that enable protected, multidisciplinary learning, promote psychological safety, and translate insights from internal and external collaboration into actionable system-level improvements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders, building strategic partnerships, leading communication efforts, and strengthening engagement to enhance the reach, alignment, and value of PSO services.
  • Develop and advance organizational capability through education on PSO frameworks, safety science, and data interpretation, fostering adoption of protected learning systems and strengthening the application of insights to improvement.
  • Direct PSO operations and governance for the PSO teamand program, ensuring effective management of programs, policies, member agreements, and cross-functional initiatives to deliver consistent, aligned, and high-performing PSO services.
  • Lead financial stewardship and growth strategy for the PSO by managing resources, expanding participation, developing high‑value service offerings, and ensuring scalable, sustainable operations aligned with regulatory parameters.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.
