The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeking an interested and qualified individual to fill a Technical Services Section Manager (DOT Technical Services Chief) position in the Southwest Region.
This full-time career executive position will be headquartered in Madison or La Crosse.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD Madison or La Crosse office buildings at least 3 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position SummaryAs a member of the Southwest Region Management Team, this position will perform highly responsible administrative and managerial functions in the development, implementation and evaluation of important and complex policy, budgetary and organizational components of the department’s transportation engineering and related programs. This position will manage the delivery of Technical Services to other region sections, which includes responsibility for Real Estate, Environmental Programs, Soils, Materials, Pavement, Right-of-Way Plat Preparation, Survey/Mapping, Utilities, Railroads, Engineering Automation and Administration.
Work is done through the use of in-house staff and consultants. Activities require extensive communication within and outside the Department.
