Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Director to lead the operations of our assisted living community. The Executive Director is responsible for overall community leadership, regulatory compliance, resident satisfaction, team development, financial performance, and quality outcomes.

This role is ideal for a senior living leader who is committed to delivering exceptional resident-centered care while fostering a positive workplace culture. The Executive Director serves as the strategic and operational leader of the community, ensuring excellence in care, service, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Wisconsin Administrative Code DHS 83, HCBS settings requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead preparation for state surveys, inspections, and audits, including implementation of corrective action plans as needed.
  • Maintain all community licensing requirements, documentation, policies, and required postings.
  • Oversee resident safety programs, risk management initiatives, emergency preparedness plans, and quality assurance processes.
  • Monitor community performance to ensure delivery of high-quality resident care and services.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, hire, coach, supervise, and evaluate department leaders and community staff.
  • Create and sustain a positive, resident-focused culture built on accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Conduct regular leadership meetings, staff trainings, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with training requirements under DHS 83.15 and DHS 83.17.
  • Manage staffing levels and scheduling to maintain quality care and operational excellence.
Resident Care & Satisfaction
  • Ensure delivery of individualized, high-quality care in accordance with resident service plans.
  • Promote strong communication with residents, families, and responsible parties.
  • Address resident and family concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee resident admissions, assessments, move-ins, transitions, and discharges.
  • Foster an engaged, welcoming environment that supports resident well-being and quality of life.
Financial Management
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the community operating budget.
  • Drive financial performance through effective expense management and resource utilization.
  • Oversee billing, payroll, accounts receivable, and operational expenditures.
  • Monitor occupancy, census, revenue, and collections to support community sustainability and growth.
  • Partner with ownership and corporate leadership to achieve financial and operational goals.
Community Outreach & Occupancy Growth
  • Serve as the primary ambassador for the community with residents, families, healthcare professionals, referral sources, and community partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts through tours, networking, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership teams to achieve occupancy and census goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Gerontology, Nursing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-3 year of previous Executive Director, Administrator, Assisted Living Administrator, or Senior Living leadership experience required.
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin assisted living regulations, DHS 83 requirements, and resident rights.
  • Strong leadership, team development, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and occupancy goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional resident and family experiences.
  • Must meet administrator qualification standards for assisted living facilities in Wisconsin
