The Opportunity
Spay Vac for Wildlife, Inc. is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the company through its next stage of development, regulatory approval, commercialization, revenue generation, and growth. The CEO will serve as the company’s visionary and principal external representative, setting strategic direction and advancing Spay Vac’s portfolio of single-dose animal fertility control vaccines across wildlife, production animal, companion animal, and other priority applications.
The ideal candidate will bring experience or significant understanding in the animal health industry, including strategic decision-making, product development, regulatory pathways, commercialization, fundraising, financial management, and partnership development. Experience taking animal health products through FDA and/or USDA regulatory processes is particularly important.
What the CEO Will Lead1. Vision, Strategy, and Portfolio Direction
- Define and execute Spay Vac’s long-term vision, corporate strategy, product direction, portfolio priorities, and measures of success.
- Set product vision and portfolio direction across wildlife, production animal, companion animal, and other priority applications, applying deep animal health industry experience, market knowledge, and commercialization insight to prioritize highest-value opportunities.
- Lead financing and fundraising strategy, investor relationships, financial forecasting, capitalization planning, and cash-runway management.
- Ensure responsible resource allocation, accurate financial reporting, appropriate internal controls, and clear reporting to the Board.
- Set revenue targets and execute commercialization strategies through licensing, partnerships, product sales, distribution, and other appropriate channels.
- Build a qualified commercial pipeline and identify, negotiate, and close significant partnerships, investments, and strategic transactions.
- Develop and oversee IP strategy, protection, portfolio management, and licensing in alignment with product and commercial priorities.
- Provide executive oversight of regulatory strategy and agency interactions, including APHIS, FDA, EPA, USDA and other authorities.
- Bring experience with, or substantial knowledge of, obtaining a NADA with FDA and/or regulatory pathways for veterinary biologics with APHIS to establish efficient approval pathways, anticipate risks, and ensure studies satisfy regulatory and commercial objectives.
- Provide strategic leadership across Spay Vac's animal health vaccine pipeline development, guiding products from research and proof of concept through clinical development, regulatory approval, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization.
- Evaluate scientific feasibility, commercial potential, cost, and time to market while overseeing scalable manufacturing, quality-system readiness, supply-chain risk, capacity, and cost of goods.
- Serve as the primary management liaison to the Board, support informed governance, execute Board-approved strategy, and oversee significant legal, contractual, compliance, and enterprise-risk matters.
- Build and lead a high-performing executive team; establish clear accountability, decision rights, milestones, and performance expectations; and scale organizational capabilities for growth.
