The Plumbing Construction Department Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial success of the Plumbing Construction business unit. This role leads and develops the department team, establishes operational priorities, manages resources and backlog, drives profitability and continuous improvement, and ensures successful execution across the department. The CDM has full profit and loss responsibility for the business unit and serves as a member of the Company's Leadership Team.

This position requires an experienced construction leader who can assess business needs, develop people and processes, make sound business decisions, and build a high-performing department.

• Lead, coach, and develop the Plumbing Construction team, including project management, field
• leadership, and administrative support.
• Establish clear responsibilities, expectations, priorities, and accountability throughout the department.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development to direct reports, including recognizing strong performance and addressing performance concerns.
• Assess department structure, staffing, and capabilities and develop plans to address current and future needs.
• Build bench strength and create appropriate ownership throughout the department so responsibilities are effectively managed at the appropriate level.
• Maintain a visible and consistent leadership presence with both office and field employees.
• Recruit, select, onboard, develop, and retain high-performing employees.
• Operational & Strategic Management
• Develop and execute department operational and strategic plans to achieve revenue, profitability,workforce, and organizational objectives.
• Maintain oversight of backlog, workload, staffing, project performance, and department priorities; allocate resources based on business needs, capacity, and risk.
• Identify operational challenges, determine root causes, and implement sustainable solutions and process improvements.
• Establish and monitor department processes, standards, KPIs, and other measures of performance to drive consistency, efficiency, and profitability.
• Evaluate department performance and adjust priorities, resources, and plans as business conditions change.
• Lead regular department, team, and one-on-one meetings to maintain communication, alignment, and accountability.

• Own and manage the overall financial performance and P&L of the Plumbing Construction business unit,
• including revenue, gross margin, profitability, overhead, and expenses.
• Maintain appropriate visibility into project financial performance, forecasts, budgets, job costs, and significant project risks.

Working hours:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field preferred;
• equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience considered.
• 7+ years of progressive experience within commercial construction, specialty contracting, mechanical contracting, or a related construction environment.
