Position Summary

The Material Handler II is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate and timely movement of materials within the receiving, stockroom, and production areas. This role includes picking, staging, and issuing materials to production, as well as receiving, inspecting, and putting away inventory in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick, stage, and deliver materials to support production work orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Complete transactions in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to track inventory movement and maintain traceability
  • Perform goods receipt activities, including verification, system transactions, labeling, and proper put-away of inventory
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material handling, cycle counting, and adherence to inventory control processes
  • Ensure all materials are stored in designated locations and comply with FIFO/FEFO and lot control requirements where applicable
  • Support stockroom organization, cleanliness, and 5S initiatives
  • Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies by verifying shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Perform system receipts in ERP (e.g., SAP), ensuring accurate entry of quantities, lot numbers, and other required data
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage, accuracy, and compliance with specifications; elevate discrepancies to Quality or Procurement as needed
  • Apply proper labeling, including internal part numbers, barcodes, and status labels (e.g., quarantine, released) in accordance with procedures
  • Coordinate with Quality for inspection or release of materials, including placement in designated quarantine or inspection locations
  • Ensure timely and accurate put-away of received goods into appropriate stockroom locations following FIFO/FEFO and storage requirements
  • Maintain receiving documentation and ensure traceability of materials in compliance with GMP and internal procedures
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders (Buying, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality) regarding receipt status, shortages, or urgent materials
  • Support continuous improvement of receiving processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and in accordance with company policies
  • Identify and elevate discrepancies, damaged materials, or process issues to supervision
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and quality teams to resolve material shortages or issues
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including GMP where applicable
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of manufacturing or warehouse related experience
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) for inventory transactions
  • Basic understanding of inventory control principles (FIFO, lot tracking, cycle counts)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs regularly
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely
Work Environment
  • Warehouse and manufacturing floor environment
  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
