Lead Tool Maker Responsibilities:

- Assist with the fabrication, modification, maintenance, and repair of tools and mechanical components by using CNC mills, mills, lathes, drills, grinders and other shop equipment

- Perform bench work such as sanding and tool assembly

- Assist in tool inspections to insure proper tool rebuilds/repairs and reduce development costs of new tools

- Participate as a team member to improve work practices and methods

- Understand and comply with all ISO QSP's and work instructions related to job responsibilities

- Assist in Tool Vault and Sample Lab as required

- Work in any department of the Company as required

- Assist all departments by providing machine shop support

- Troubleshoot production problems and provide solutions

- Perform work to the tooling schedule and adjust as required to meet internal and external customer deadlines

Requirements for Lead Tool Maker:

- Certificate in Machine Tool Operations or related field and 1 year experience in manufacturing environment – OR – Equivalent machine tool experience in tool fabrication, maintenance, or machine shop

- Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements

- Working knowledge on the safe and effective use of the following machine shop equipment: CAD/CAM, CNC mills, EDM's, milling machines, manual lathes, and drill presses

- Ability to read blueprints

- Ability to apply shop math to build tools

- Ability to interact well with others

- Self-starter with the ability to try new methods to improve productivity

- Strong troubleshooting skills
