Purpose:
To support and assist the Quality Department in daily responsibilities including inspection of in-process and finished product; nonconforming material disposition; product processing within electronic inventory software (NAV), and packaging and weigh counting as applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform inspections of JBC products to determine conformance to required specifications and company standards.
- Use standard measuring and testing instruments, functional gauges, and other tools as required.
- Process associated documentation accurately.
- Must be able to work independently and problem solve when issues arise.
- Assist with distribution of products and materials.
- Assist with identification and containment of any nonconformances found.
- Enter related data into the ERP system.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Detects and reports questionable conditions to supervisors/managers.
- Submit ideas for corrective actions to Quality as they arise to uphold our commitment to continuous improvement.
- Works with the Shipping Department to provide certs as needed
- Assist with Customer documentation and measurements such as FAI or PPAP

- Participate in team projects and meetings as assigned.
- Follow all JBC policies and procedures.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing shipping environment and/or inspection role.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing/inspection.
- Understands scope of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and reports.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure; use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (perform basic math).
- Able to follow directions
- Able to use hand tools
- Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift.
- Protective equipment not required but available for nuisance dust.
- Normal schedule – 40 hours/week;
Monday through Thursday 10-hour shifts - Overtime scheduled as needed and may be mandatory Friday and Saturday.
- Work performed in a plant/production environment.
- Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
- Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision.
