Materials Coordination Associate
The Materials Coordination Associate position is responsible for handling all operational processes from start to finish for orders that don't fall within our everyday order protocol. This includes picking material, picking pipes, checking, and processing MTRs as needed. Individuals will be cross trained to perform all these functions. The Materials Coordination Associate provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.
EssentialFunctions
- Gather material fittings using a forklift, standup order picker and cart.
- Double check order material and quantities as needed.
- Packing or labeling material safely and according to customer requests.
- Process MTRs for pipe/fittings that require them.
- Pick pipe using an overhead crane.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as continuous quality improvement objectives.
- Adhere to all company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Requires intermediate computer skills (web search, Microsoft Office, Xerox).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Proficient in English for business communication
- Complete understanding of the picking, checking, packing, and MTR processes.
- Must be able to safely operate the overhead crane.
- Requires the safe operation of sit-down/ stand-up forklifts
- Able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: At least two years in MTRs, pipe packing, material picking, checking or in a similar role.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in distribution order fulfillment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
- Requires visual, hearing and speech acuity.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
- Ability to use hands to operate office equipment.
