Packaging Technician

Position Title: Packaging Technician

Wage: $17.50/hour

Shift: 12 Hour Days or Nights

Hours: 6:00am - 6:00pm or 6:00pm - 6:00am (2-2-3 Schedule)

Location:

Madison, WI

• Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards
• Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases; use case taper to secure cases
• Verify material for disposal and regrind
• Remove tubs of recycling material from the Operations floor
• Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels
• Process skid and hold tags
• Participate in layered audits
• Identify and communicate quality deviations or nonconforming product
• Follow all established safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required

• Mechanical aptitude
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements
• Basic math skills
• Computer and software skills
• Ability to solve basic math problems
• Ability to perform medium work (lift 10-30 lbs): cases of product continually
• Ability to perform heavy work (lift 31-50 lbs): pallets and cases of products occasionally
• Ability to twist, bend, reach, stoop, climb, stand for long periods of time
