This role works on a fast-paced production line, carefully packaging food products into totes that are then prepared for shipment to multiple distribution facilities. You will handle product packing, palletizing, and basic material handling while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitized work area. The position requires strong attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to track inventory with minimal use of computers.
Responsibilities- Work on the production line to package food products accurately and efficiently into totes.
- Prepare packaged products for shipment by organizing totes and ensuring they are ready to be loaded onto trucks.
- Palletize totes in a safe and orderly manner to support efficient transportation and storage.
- Dispose of cardboard and other packaging materials properly to keep the production area organized and free of debris.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area on the production floor in accordance with food safety standards.
- Monitor products and packaging for quality, ensuring items are correctly labeled and handled.
- Keep track of inventory as products move through the packing and palletizing process.
- Follow all safety procedures, including working safely around forklifts and other equipment.
- Use basic math skills to verify counts, quantities, and inventory levels as needed.
- Lift and move items weighing 40 pounds or more throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with team members and follow direction from supervisors to meet production goals.
- Experience with packing, production, or packaging in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks on a production line with consistent accuracy and speed.
- Capability to lift 40+ pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packing, labeling, and inventory tracking.
- Good organization skills to manage totes, pallets, and materials efficiently.
- Ability to keep track of inventory and product flow with minimal computer use.
- Basic math skills to verify quantities and counts.
- Comfort working in an environment with forklifts and other material‑handling equipment.
- Reliability to work scheduled shifts from late morning or afternoon until production is complete.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food production, beverage, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with palletizing and material handling processes.
- Experience with picking and lifting tasks in a warehouse or production setting.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to support a collaborative production environment.

WorkEnvironment
This role is based in a food and beverage production facility with active production lines and forklift traffic. The primary shifts run from 10:00 a.m. until production is complete and from 2:00 p.m. until production is complete, Monday through Thursday. The environment involves standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, and regular lifting of 40+ pounds. Employees work around moving equipment and must remain alert and safety-focused.
Slip‑resistant shoes are required due to working with food and beverages, and a high‑visibility shirt is required because forklifts operate throughout the facility. The setting emphasizes cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to safety protocols.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI.
