2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4 PM–2 AM
Total pay includes $28/hr base plus a 2nd shift premium of $3/hr.
Job SummaryThe Packaging Shift Lead supervises a team in various packaging functions, operating the bottle filler, canning line, and kegger, and directing CIPs and preventative maintenance. This role manages daily operations of the line they are assigned to—including staffing and team supervision—making decisions that aid in efficient, quality production of products. The Shift Lead coordinates day‑to‑day work with the Packaging Management Team.
The Shift Lead is accountable for their work and must follow safety brewery guidelines, SOPs, and cleaning procedures.
- Create weekly shift staffing schedule based on vacation schedule.
- Approve or deny PTO.
- Confirm proper packaging mix and packaging materials (Pak Techs, Crowns, Lids, Keg Collars, etc.) based on BBT volume before kegging/filling of product.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date snapshot of all BBTs at all times to allow for fluid transfer of information to the rest of the packaging team on shift.
- Coordinate Master Training Matrix to ensure employees on shift are trained in an efficient manner.
- Work with employees on shift to designate who needs to be trained on which tasks.
- Develop or update SOPs for tasks associated with the master training matrix and report changes to the Packaging Manager.
- Responsible for creating shift report each day for the respective shift.
- Work with the team to communicate issues to maintenance.
- Submit work orders.
- Compile data from each run and enter it into Excel, print the report, and provide information to the Packaging Manager.
- Report includes QA/QC sheet, pallet tickets recorded, BBT paperwork, and packaging run sheet.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are upheld per shift.
- Supervise a team of 7–10 individuals.
- Meet with Packaging Management Team weekly.
- Utilize employees to maintain a clean workspace.
- Delegate tasks when downtime occurs on the production floor.
- Triage requests from packaging employees on shift.
- Work to decrease downtime on the production floor.
- Assist on machines as needed.

Requirements- Able to complete following packaging release targets:
Sterile sample collection (as determined by the training matrix). - Take measurements of O2/CO2 if necessary, using Gehaltemeter or C‑Box (as determined by the training matrix).
- Able to drive forklift for movement of raw goods (can, bottles) and finished goods (cases, trays, kegs).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organization.
- Ability to function well in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to lift 55 lb and move 165 lb as needed.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach repetitively.
- Maintain confidentiality with business‑related information.
- Flexibility with working hours.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Complete duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all PPE and GMP requirements.
Hourly wage: $31.
