At Kriete Truck Centers, our Back Counter Parts Associates support the efficiency of our service department by providing technicians with the parts they need to complete repairs quickly and accurately. You will manage parts requests from technicians, ensure parts are pulled, organized, and delivered promptly. Your attention to detail, quick response time, and reliability will help maintain a smooth flow of parts to the technicians and support our service operations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver fast, reliable, and accurate parts service to technicians, minimizing downtime in the service department.
- Assist technicians in selecting the right parts for repairs, advising on compatible components and needed items.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of parts for regular repairs and service work; anticipate needs to minimize delays.
- Communicate with technicians and the parts manager regarding availability, back-orders, and special requests to ensure timely parts delivery.
- Keep a clean and organized work area and store parts correctly to avoid damage or confusion.
- Collaborate with the service department to track parts usage, inventory levels, and shortages; help resolve issues quickly.
- Ensure records including parts orders and invoices are accurately documented and up-to-date for internal tracking.
- Participate in training to stay current on product knowledge, OEM updates, and vendor offerings.
- Uphold professional standards and teamwork in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring quick decision-making and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills, focusing on meeting technicians' needs and supporting their efficiency through timely and accurate parts deliveries.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through to ensure correct parts delivery the first time.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with dealer management and inventory software.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience operating a forklift is a plus but not required.
- Ability to safely operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job-specific equipment when necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication to collaborate with technicians and team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Experience in parts sales, inventory management, or parts software preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing or technician-support role is desirable, with ability to meet urgent needs and solve problems under pressure.
