Tube and Plate Laser Operator

We are hiring a Tube and Plate Laser Operator to join our laser cutting department. This full-time, first-shift role operates tube and plate laser machines, supports material flow, verifies part quality, and helps keep production moving safely and efficiently. Laser experience is helpful, but we are willing to train candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, reliable attendance, and a desire to learn.

In this role, you will set up, operate, and monitor tube and plate laser cutting machines; read blueprints, work orders, drawings, and nesting layouts; safely handle tube, plate and sheet materials; and inspect finished parts using calipers, gauges, tape measures, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on manufacturing or metal fabrication experience, especially with CNC machines, tube lasers, plate lasers, fiber lasers or related shop equipment.

Experience with material handling, forklift or overhead crane operation, deburring, grinding, welding, and quality-focused production work is also helpful, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

• Operate tube and plate laser cutting machines according to work orders, blueprints, drawings, nesting layouts, and production requirements
• Follow proper machine start-up, setup, operation, and shut-down procedures
• Load, unload, stage, and handle tube, plate and sheet materials safely and efficiently
• Inspect laser-cut parts for accuracy, cut quality, dimensional compliance, edge condition, and conformance to customer specifications
• Use calipers, gauges, tape measure, and other measurement tools to verify parts and support quality control requirements
• Identify quality issues, make machine or process adjustments, and take action to prevent repeat defects
• Assist with part verification, First Article Inspection preparation, deburring, grinding, and material movement as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety procedures
• Communicate material, quality, equipment, and production concerns to supervisors and team members
• Perform other fabrication, production, and shop support duties as assigned

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, production instructions, and part specifications
• Experience using calipers, gauges, tape measure, and basic inspection tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliable attendance, good work history, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and maintain quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Safety-minded and able to lift up to 75 lbs as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Manufacturing, metal fabrication, CNC machine operation, laser cutting, or machine operator experience
• Tube laser, plate laser, fiber laser, plasma, saw, press brake, or related fabrication equipment experience
• Forklift, overhead crane, overhead hoist, welding, deburring, grinding, or material handling experience
