Packaging Operator - 1st Shift Job Description
This role involves the safe and efficient operation of process and packaging equipment from start-up to shut-down, ensuring the production of safe, quality food for human consumption. The position may also include the mixing and cooking of candy recipes.
ResponsibilitiesChange programs/parameters in chocolate tempering machines, depositors, enrobers, and various machines related to processing and packaging food.
Assemble pipes, pumps, and kettle parts for cooking and mixing candy recipes using common hand tools.
Follow recipes to weigh ingredients, mix and cook, and measure temperature, viscosity, and brix.
Operate both manual and computer-controlled machines, performing set‑ups and changeovers based on daily production needs.
Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) for tasks related to cooking and equipment operation.
Experience with GMP standards
Food production and machine operating skills
Batching, mixing, and blending
Ability to lift over 50 pounds
Proficiency in fractions and interpreting ingredient lists
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of machine operating experience
Enjoy a stable career in the food industry with a direct hire position. Benefit from a four-day work week from Monday to Thursday, with opportunities for raises after six months. Work in a climate-controlled environment maintained at 69-70 degrees year-round, with a shift premium for second shift.
Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a GMP-regulated food manufacturing facility that specializes in chocolate-covered nuts, candies, and other products. The work environment is climate-controlled with temperatures ranging from 67 to 85 degrees, providing a comfortable setting for all employees. The first shift runs from 6 am to 4:30 pm.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $50000.00/yr.
-Direct Hire-$22-$24 an hour-Full Benfits (Ask for a copy)-4 day work week M-Th-Raise after 6 months ($1.00-$2.00) dollars-Shift Premium: 2nd shift: $2.00 dollars/hr-Stability within Food Industry-Climate controlled at 69-70 degrees year round due to chocolate
